About Kelvin Juma
Kelvin Juma is an independent documentary photographer, videographer, and visual storyteller based in Nairobi, Kenya. With over six years of professional experience, Kelvin specializes in documenting socio-economic culture, development and impact stories, and the daily lives of individuals and communities. Having worked extensively within Kenya’s informal settlements, he possesses unique community access, allowing him to capture authentic African narratives.
Kelvin collaborates closely with development NGOs, corporate clients, and international organizations to translate complex client goals into compelling visual stories that resonate deeply with audiences. His elite client roster includes Gavi the Vaccine Alliance, The World Bank Group, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the MasterCard Foundation, City Cancer Challenge, and Google.
He holds an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia Production from Edulink International College-Nairobi (2018). To further deepen his practice, he completed specialized training in Visual Storytelling and Documentary Practice at The VII Photo Academy, alongside International Development coursework at the University of East Anglia, England.
